About

I build networks and the software that runs on top of them, on the ground and off it.

Bio

I am Zackary Pedersen. Online I go by Keoir.

I run a real autonomous system and I have flight heritage. Almost nobody has both. That contrast is the spine of this site and of the work.

On the ground I operate AS399646: four POPs (HOU, MCI, MCO, LAX), an MPLS backbone, Juniper MX204 edge, roughly 4,400 customers. Owned space, owned ASN, custom BGP tooling. I build the operational stack in house when renting would leave a gap: DartMesh (L2 overlay, Noise IKpsk2 with ChaCha20-Poly1305), dn-bgp (BGP route server in Go), DART Shield (FlowSpec and RTBH), DartCore (bare metal over iPXE), DartTrust (fraud scoring), Vader (billing and ops), Inception (PHP application framework).

Off the ground, software I was responsible for has flown on Blue Ghost and on ISS payloads (MISSE-FF, StaARS-EF). FlightDesk is the mission control software I work on.

I live on the Texas Gulf Coast near Houston. Boating, gaming, consumer tech. Married. I am President and CEO of Snaju Inc.; DartNode is the network side of that work. Snaju and DartNode are things I built. This site is about the person, not a company brochure.

Timeline

  1. 2011

Started building a small ISP. That network grew into a multi-POP autonomous system rather than staying a single-site shop.

  2. Network

AS399646 with four points of presence: Houston, Kansas City, Orlando, and Los Angeles. MPLS backbone, Juniper MX204 edge, owned address space, owned ASN, custom BGP tooling. Roughly 4,400 customers. Not a reseller.

  3. Flight

Aerospace software work grew alongside the network into TRL-9 flight heritage. Software I was responsible for has flown on Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander and on the International Space Station via MISSE-FF and StaARS-EF payloads, plus active mission control software (FlightDesk).

  4. Now

President and CEO of Snaju Inc. in the Houston area. Still building the network stack and the platforms that sit on it. Side work includes the ip.space Foundation (open orbital internet routing standards, including ORP with my father), TaskHound, and Velden, an indie game in Godot 4.
